The 2017 edition of the Scottsdale Open demonstrated the importance of "Moving Day" Saturday at the TPC Scottsdale Stadium. The eventual tournament winners were scattered throughout the field after We-Ko-Pa Cholla defended itself well on Friday.
But the TPC Scottsdale Stadium yield plenty of sub-par rounds to the field on Saturday and once moving into the lead, the teams atop the Net and Senior Net divisions successfully negotiated Sunday's "Count 'em All" final round at Grayhawk Raptor to claim victory.
In the end, the elegant golf course conditions, sunny weather and warm camaraderie shared by the tournament field players sent everyone home a winner. Well played, gentlemen.

We-Ko-Pa Cholla - TPC Stadium - Grayhawk Raptor
January 6 - 7 - 8, 2017

The Scottsdale Open is pure golf and pure Scottsdale.

WeKoPa Cholla, TPC Scottsdale Stadium and Grayhawk Raptor are where the two-player amateur teams teed it up for three days of competition on Scottsdale's best championship golf courses in pro-style tournament conditions under January's sunny desert skies.

And in 2017, teams selected and played their "best" team tee shots all three days. As always, it's two days of Team Best Ball format and one final day of "Count 'em All" Team Combined Score format scoring, where the top three teams in each competitive division, Gross, Senior Net, and Open Net, took home the trophies and equipment prizes.

But then, as Bobby Jones so famously noted,

"Competitive golf is played mainly on a five-and-one-half-inch course - the space between your ears."
